Pie Oven Sweet Potato Pie

“Every Thanksgiving table in Alabama needs one.”

You'll need

• 2 cups mashed cooked sweet potatoes (about 3 medium)
• ½ cup butter, softened
• 1 cup sugar
• ½ cup milk
• 2 eggs
• ½ tsp cinnamon
• ½ tsp nutmeg
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 unbaked 9-inch deep-dish pie crust

How to make it

1. Heat the oven to 350°F.
2. Beat the warm sweet potatoes with the butter until smooth.
3. Beat in the sugar, milk, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla.
4. Pour into the crust.
5. Bake 55–60 minutes, until a knife near the center comes out clean. Cool before slicing.
