Golden Peach Ice Cream

“The state-fair winner. You'll need an ice cream maker.”

You'll need

• 2 cups peeled, diced ripe peaches
• ¾ cup sugar, divided
• 1 tbsp lemon juice
• 2 cups heavy cream
• 1 cup whole milk
• 1 tsp vanilla
• Pinch of salt

How to make it

1. Mash the peaches with ¼ cup sugar and the lemon juice. Chill 1 hour.
2. Whisk the cream, milk, remaining ½ cup sugar, vanilla and salt until the sugar dissolves.
3. Churn in your ice cream maker following its directions.
4. Add the peaches in the last 5 minutes of churning.
5. Spoon into a container and freeze 2–4 hours until firm.
